CookIQ Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026 ยท Version 2026-06-17

1. General provisions

These Terms govern the use of the CookIQ application (the "App") for home pantry management, meal planning and AI-generated recipe suggestions.

The App operator is Dawid Romanowski, a sole proprietor trading as Dawid Romanowski - Analyst, ul. Husarii Polskiej 28B/1, 43-100 Tychy, Poland, Tax ID (NIP) 6463021846(the "Operator"). Contact: contact@cook-iq-app.com.

Using the App constitutes acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Definitions

  • User โ€” a natural person aged 16 or older who uses the App.
  • Account โ€” the User's data and settings linked to their email address.
  • Points โ€” the App's internal unit consumed by AI operations (e.g. photo analysis, recipe generation). Points are not a means of payment or electronic money.
  • Google Play โ€” the store and payment operator (Google) through which Points are purchased.

3. Scope of services

The App allows you to: keep a pantry list, recognise products from photos via AI, generate recipe and meal-plan suggestions, build a shopping list and store dietary preferences. Some features consume Points.

New Users receive a one-time free allowance of welcome Points. The Operator may change the available features and the Point cost of operations.

4. User account

  • Creating an Account requires an email address, a password and email confirmation.
  • The App is intended for users aged 16 and over.
  • The User must keep their password confidential and not share the Account.
  • The User may delete the Account and all data at any time in the Account settings.

5. Points (credits)

  • Points are used solely to access AI features in the App.
  • Points cannot be exchanged for money, are not refunded in cash and cannot be transferred between Accounts.
  • Purchased Points do not expire while the Account exists.
  • Points are credited after Google Play confirms and verifies the payment.

6. Payments

Point packages are purchased exclusively through Google Play, which acts as the payment operator and issues the sales document. Prices shown in the App are gross (including the tax applicable to the User's country) and are charged by Google.

The Operator does not process or store the User's card details. Google Play terms also apply to the transaction.

7. Right of withdrawal (digital content)

Points are digital content delivered immediately. By placing an order and accepting these Terms, a consumer User consents to immediate performance (provision of Points) before the 14-day withdrawal period expires and acknowledges the loss of the right of withdrawal for Points that have been used (Art. 38(13) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act).

Payment refunds and complaints are handled under Google Play's refund policy. An approved refund results in the corresponding number of Points being removed from the Account.

8. Complaints

Complaints about the App may be submitted to contact@cook-iq-app.com, including a description of the issue and the Account email. The Operator will respond within 14 days. Complaints about the payment transaction itself may also be directed to Google Play.

9. AI, recipe and health disclaimer

โš ๏ธ Recipes, meal suggestions, product recognition and nutrition values are AI-generated and may contain errors, inaccuracies or be incomplete. The App is supportive and informational in nature.

  • Allergens: the "avoid allergens" feature works on a best-effort basis and does not guarantee that allergenic ingredients are excluded. The User must check ingredients and product labels themselves. For serious allergies or intolerances, consult a doctor and do not rely solely on the App.
  • Food safety: proper storage, heat treatment and preparation of food (including meat, fish, eggs) is solely the User's responsibility.
  • Nutrition values: calories and macronutrients are estimates and do not constitute medical or dietary advice.

To the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for the consequences of relying on AI-generated content. This disclaimer does not limit consumer rights under mandatory law.

10. Technical requirements

Using the App requires a device with Internet access, a current browser or Android app, and an active Account. AI features require an Internet connection.

11. Prohibited use

Using the App unlawfully, attempting to bypass the Points mechanism or security measures, automated mass querying of the services, and using the App for unlawful content are prohibited. The Operator may suspend or delete an Account that breaches these Terms.

12. Changes to the Terms

The Operator may amend these Terms for valid reasons (changes in law, scope of services, payment rules). Users will be notified in the App or by email. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Polish law. Consumers may use out-of-court complaint and redress mechanisms, including the EU ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). These Terms do not limit consumer rights under mandatory law.

14. Contact
